The last week hasn't been awesome in terms of writing, but yesterday I had a great parking lot session. I got 4 pages, which doesn't sound like a lot, but actually isn't bad. It was funny because my brain was fuzzy from trying to fight off some virus that left me with a sore throat and no energy, and I really didn't think I had ANY pages in me, but I just placed my fingers on the keyboard and wrote one sentence, which lead to another and another. Before I knew it I had a 4 page scene.
Love when that happens.
But it's one of those scenes that I'm not completely certain I'll keep all of. I may need to cut it down. The scene invovles a minor character's back story, so I'm not sure if I need all of it, even though I love all of it.
Sadly, sometimes you have to take Stephen King's advice and murder your darlings.
We'll see what happens.
Watched Joyride yesterday, which is a great spooky movie. Love it. Hadn't seen it in years so I really enjoyed it. Love the month of October for all kinds of reasons, one of them being the creepy movies. Sadly, I fell asleep on the couch during A Haunting in Connecticut last night. That's a good one too.
And The Messengers, if you haven't seen it.
One of the creepiest things I've seen in the last two weeks is all the Christmas decorations up in the stores already. I mean, fully decorated, lit Christmas trees. I mean, come on! We haven't even had Halloween yet! Right? Am I right?
Or am I just a grinch?

I find that the hardest step to is to actually start writing. Start anything, really.
Once you get the flow going, it gains its own momentum.
You're so right, PV. Same deal today. Really just felt like staring out the window but I started typing and I was fine :)
