Wow

I finished Lilith Saintcrow's NightShift last night. This is the first of her books that I've read, but it won't be the last. She friggin' rocks.
It takes me forever to read a book because the only time I have to read it right before I go to sleep, and I usually nod off after about 5 pages. So you can imagine.
But this one kept me reading much longer. What an excellent, kick-ass story. I loved it. The only problem is, I have to get all of her books now. I need to read them all. NEED to.

If you like fast paced, exciting as hell horror/urban fantasy, then to run, don't walk, to the book store to get this one. You won't be sorry.

Teehee!

I love this banner. I think it's so cool!

Writing while Ben's napping so this is a fly-by post, but pretty proud of myself for washing floors after I put him to bed last night. I fell asleep on the couch watching Moonlight. Man, I don't know the name of the lead guy in Moonlight and haven't time to google it right now, but he is peeeerty. Very nice.

Okay, back to the current book and sucking on homemade iced coffee. Makes me jittery though, but that's okay. I like being jittery.

Have a great day all!

Cover Me

I've got cover! Darragha Foster and I are sharing this one. The book is a duet, two novellas in one. And I'm SO stoked that October is the release date. I always wanted to have a spooky story released in October. Woohoo! This one is hot and spooky!
We have a banner as well. Pretty cool! Now I just have to find the time to put the book cover and banner on the website!

The Unseen

Alex Sokoloff's new release The Unseen will be in stores this week. Pick it up! She's an excellent writer. I'm so excited!!

Okay, back to work for me.

*Cough*

I have a cold. Baby was really sick all week, stayed home with him on Tuesday, and now I'm sick! Figures. Hehe. So I'm going to try and work through the cold. I feel light headed and my nose is running constantly, but I'm determined to get some work done.

I'm so jazzed about my novella, Burning Souls, being part of theHearts Afire Series. I've tried to insert a link here for you, but for some reason it isn't letting me. Stupid Blogger! I used to just put the links in manually, but since blogger has added all the bells and whistles, it's next to impossible to do that now. *Sigh*

Anyway, the very talented April Martinez is doing the covers for this series. She is the artist I requested for Repo Chick Blues and Finding Chloe. I love her work!

I've added some new links to the Very Cool People section. Check them out. Very cool people indeed.

Have a great day, all!

Ugh

I actually cut 35 pages from the current project. I just wasn't going in the right direction. I'd been mulling this over for a while and trying to find a way around it but it just wasn't working. I've had to do this before. Repo Chick Blues had a couple of false starts. Had to actually start over changing POVs for that one. That was fun.

So here I am, starting from chapter 2. I like the first chapter. Just needs modifying and tweaking. But the story is going in a different direction. It's just kind of a drag because I went from having almost 77 pages to 35 pages. I did save the stuff I cut in a different document, though, because you never know.

The critter is sleeping so I'm going to slam an apple muffin (which I made from scratch, woowoo!) and get to it.

Have a good day everyone.

Just got word that Liquid Silver Books is offering to publish my novella Burning Souls for their Hears Afire series! Not sure when it'll be released, but thought I'd dash off a quick note on the blog. I'm stoked! I love this story and I'm SO excited to be part of this series. What a great way to end the week! YAY!

Break Over

I finished the novella the Sunday before last and decided to take a bit of a break to clear my mind of the last story. Residual stuff always lingers for a while when I'm finished a story, so it's hard to concentrate fully on anything else.

Last Sunday I decided that I was bored of taking a break hehe. So back to the other story I go. I'm glad I did take some time, though, because a lot of new ideas have popped up from my subconcious. I think that sometimes I think too hard, trying to figure the story out and then it's like a forest for the trees thing. Funny how the path clears sometimes if you just get the hell out of your own way.

Got a new laptop a couple of weeks ago. Having trouble letting go of the other, just because it's what I'm used to. The other, which is three years old but pristine, is going to my fella, who will use it for making his race car go faster (something about using a program to figure out speed or something). I'm just trying to get used to this bigger one with the bigger screen and the bigger keyboard. It feels so alien. *Sigh*

Also, I am ont used to Visa. Most computers come with it now. I'm pissed too, that Word is not included with it. I have to buy Office. Drag!

Okay, gotta git.
